cacao ceremonies
deep rooted connection
whole body feeling
Cacao has been a powerful plant ally used in many ceremonial occasions. Many traditions carry it differently;
Cacao supports the heart, connecting with oneself and the surrounding environment, opening a whole-body feeling and a release.
Every plant remedy usually tunes into your needs; the sensations and result of the ceremony might be different depending on what is necessary right now, the theme and intentions, your conditions and priorities, and even the phase of your personal cycle.
Why choose ceremonial cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is a pure, heart-opening form of chocolate made with the whole cacao bean. Honoured by Indigenous peoples of Central and South America for thousands of years, it has long been used to heal, celebrate, and connect with the divine.
Unlike commercial chocolate, ceremonial cacao's ideal state is minimally processed to deliver its deep power. It helps us soften the heart so we can receive and express more freely, awaken creativity, clarity, and compassion.
what we know today
Science caught up eventually, confirming that Cacao contains natural compounds that open the heart and calm the mind.
Theobromine, meaning “food of the gods,” energises and supports focus, depending on the dosage, it can be gentle or wave-like.
Anandamide, the “bliss molecule,” enhances joy, creativity, and emotional connection.
Together, they encourage a state of openness and flow, helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom and purpose.
about the Ceremony
Cacao ceremonies offer a gentle but profound space for reflection, healing and evolution. Each one can be different and centred on key themes related to personal life, human collective, season cycles, rites of passage etc.
It may include and is not limited to elements such as shamanic journey, meditation, singing, movement and dancing, sound bath, or creative expression.
Ceremonies often align with seasonal or lunar cycles, inviting you to work with nature’s rhythms. Every participant is supported to move at their own pace in an atmosphere of safety, compassion, and community.
In 1:1 sessions, the experience is personalised to your unique journey.
Preparation
To honour the cacao ceremony:
Eat lightly and avoid caffeine, dairy, and alcohol for 24 hours before and after. Some people prefer fasting before allowing cacao into their body; others find it too intense.
Allow time before and after your ceremony to rest, reflect, and integrate your insights. If there is any “pending thought” you might want to prepare to let go and find out what you need to move forward, so you can ask for that support during the Cacao Ceremony.
safety & Care
Ceremonial cacao is safe and non-hallucinogenic, but it gently increases serotonin and blood flow;
If you take antidepressants, have heart conditions, are pregnant, or are highly sensitive to caffeine, please reach out for guidance on an appropriate dose. I’ll always help you find a way to connect safely.
Integrity & Sourcing
The cacao I work with comes directly from trusted farmers and Indigenous communities who honour the plant and its lineage. This ensures authenticity, fair trade, and respect for the traditions that have kept this medicine alive.
In Essence
Ceremonial cacao is a gateway to connect with the spirit of the plant, receiving an ally for healing and guidance. When consumed with intention, it helps us return to the wisdom of our own heart and remember that we are in the Web of Life.
